Art Workshops

In our workshops you can learn how to paint on porcelain and on wood. Sylvie has painted on wood and done frescues for many years, and can give you tips (see her work in the slideshow below). Catherine, who’s been a teacher for over 20 years, will teach you the basics of painting on porcelain. Both Sylvie and Catherine will show you that it is possible to create your own original works that will impress you even if you think you have no artistic talent whatsoever. They know how to adapte to all levels (from beginners to experts) and to everyone’s taste. To be able to take home your own works of art, please plan a minimum of two day's work, noting that workshops of four days are recommended.

For painting on wood : please bring your own painting surface (boxes, small pieces of furniture, etc…). Paint and brushes are provided.

For painting on porcelain : all material is provided as well as the firing.

If you would like to take an initiation course of medieval history (11th century to 15th century), discover and understand historical documents, learn the meaning of Romanesque sculptures from the Poitou-Charentes region, Léopold can help you uncover the secrets from this time period that has left very present traces on our land.

Would you like to know more about your ancestors, learn how to spotlight your family archives, or create your own coat of arms using your name and your roots? In his workshop on personal heritage, Léopold can help you make your own family tree and give you advice on how to make the best use of your family archives.

If you or your children are interested in prehistoric times, the workshop on tools used by prehistoric man and an initiation course on carving/hewing flint offered by Léopold will answer your questions.

These one-day, all-day workshops are comprised of a theoretical and practical presentation accompanied by guided visit of local treasures.
